Last week I was honoured to be invited to the Girls Day Out Blogger Event hosted at the Metropolitan bar in Merchant city, Glasgow.
Once I arrived I was greeted my the lovely Claudia Foxcroft (Social Media & Digital Executive) who made me feel very welcome by offering me a glass of prosecco however for some really strange reason I was driving so I had to resort to a glass of water with a wee strawberry 🙂
I was then seated in this beautiful room that I was unaware of, situated upstairs with several round tables with candles, cakes and more prosecco, there was even a fabulous goodie bag that I put all my might into not looking until I got home.
Once we were all settled we were greeted by the events manager, Julia Girvan who started to let us all know what the meaning behind the Girls Day Out event and why it was being hosted to all us fabulous women and what we should expect at the event in December.
After Julia the next spokes person was for Fake Baker who went on to explain how Fake Bake began and how it has expanded from a small spray tan product sold in a beauty salon to a world-wide enterprise and lucky to us the founder Sandra McClumpha was there is answer any questions.
Up next was Ashleigh Anderson who is the founder of F.A.C.E Semi-Permanent & Cosmetic Make Up studio based in St Enoch Square, Glasgow. Ashleigh specialises in Semi-Permanent eyebrow tattooing and went into depth about how she delivers the best eyebrow structure by looking at your skin tone, hair colour and face shape, this was fascinating to listen to as this is something I have always been interested in getting done however I am a bit of a wimp and would need someone to hold my hand.
Once Ashleigh finished we were able to have a short break to fill our drinks and fill our stomachs with scone, cream and jams and lots of other wee delicious treats situated on a 3 tier stand surrounded by prosecco on ice.
Next up was of course my favourite, it was the girls from Urban Decay, Danielle Roberts (PR and Social media) and Lauren Howden who talked about the newest trends that have come out which included the UD Naked Ultimate Basis and the Ruby Rose Lip collection, followed on with the newest trends for 2017. Urban Decay is an amazing brand that never fails to amaze me with what they bring out next, I own 5 of their palettes including all 3 of the naked ones, yes I know I can’t get enough.
The last of the speakers was a company called Urban Hair and Beauty who have a salon in Glasgow and have been going for around 25 years, they are known for the 3 pony tail trick for hair up which you will see being demonstrated at the Girls Days Out Event, I was really impressed with the way there were able to create these unusual yet fabulous hair creations.
Once all the talks had finished we were then left to mingle with the other bloggers and go to each exhibitor and have a chat about their products, as you can imagine I was first up at Urban Decay who I was lucky to speak to Danielle who helped answer some questions with regards to some products, I also got to try the all nighter foundation which of course I had to purchase yesterday 🙂 what an amazing product, the coverage is brilliant and a little goes a long way, I will talk more about this soon.
I then moved on to have a chat with a company called Yarbawater.com who create herbal drinks that are as good as green tea if not better, I was really interested as me and my husband are quite partial to herbal tea or two.
I then wondered round and noticed Massage and glow were there offering messages, I wasn’t fast enough to get a message though, I was far to busy chatting to other bloggers at this point so was quite disappointed however I will be looking out for them in December.
Urban Hair and Beauty were demonstrating the unique 3 pony tricks and showing off their makeup skills.
After all the excitement it was time for me to say my good byes to a few lovely lady bloggers that I met and head home.
As soon as I arrived home the first thing I had to do was dive into my goodie bag, I was over the moon with what I got, the goodie bag consisted of Fake Bake products, Urban Decay Perversion mascara, chandelle & Co, body milks, Ruby Cosmetics, Glove your Body, Benefit lip gloss, nail, Chocolatiers (Gin flavour) and not forgetting the Fabulous cupcake from Bumblebee Bakehouse which my lovely daughter ate.
This was a great night that I was honoured to have been there, I was given the opportunity to meet so many lovely bloggers that were in the same situation as me and was there to share their experiences and websites.
I want to say a massive thank you to the Girls Day Out team that chose to bring me alone to such a great experience, It just makes me more excited to got to the event in December.
